The 6th Annual North Forebay Triathlon is a participant friendly triathlon suited for experienced triathletes as well as beginners. It begins with a 3 mile trail run, followed by a 1 mile kayak, and ending with a 10 mile mountain bike ride.
This year, there will also be a Kid's Duathlon, consisting of a .75 mile run around the swim area, followed by a 1.5 mile two-loop bike course around the swim area, and finishing with the same .75 mile run around the swim area. The kids duathlon will begin at 8:30 a.m. All participants will receive a ribbon and the top three in two year age groups will receive a North Forebay Triathlon medal. This will be free to all kids, under the age of 12. (Kayak's will not be used due to safety reasons).
If you do not have your own kayak, then please call the North Forebay Aquatics Center at (530)624-6919 to rent a kayak. Please reserve early in order to have a kayak on race day. Each participant is responsible for paying for their kayak rental and return. There is a separate fee for kayak rental. On race day, you need to go to the Aquatics Center to secure your kayak and leave your license. You will then paddle your kayak around to the beach area and leave it there until you need it for the kayak portion of the race and then paddle it back to the Aquatics Center after the race. This is an hourly rate, so return your kayak ASAP. The North Forebay Triathlon is a separate registration fee.
